National Grid: Job Advert
Role: Director of Asset Management

Make a difference on a national level
Would you like to influence the overall network strategy of Wales and England’s electricity transmission system?
We’re looking for a Director of Asset Management to take overall strategic leadership of the asset management function within our Asset Operations (AO) department.
This is a job about impact. We’re looking for someone who wants to improve our organisation and drive change within a regulatory context. Someone looking to influence the future agenda and leave a positive legacy. Someone with big ideas and a strong commitment to research and development.
You will head our long-term asset management strategy and life-cycle optimisation. Propelling change management across National Grid, you will look at issues such as commerciality, affordability and innovation. You will lead the development of existing business and the integration of new, regulated business opportunities. You will also identify and adopt new technology, upskill your team and develop new talent.
We are spending billions of pounds on creating and maintaining an electricity transmission network that provides a greener future and national energy security too. If you want to lead in a national company, with a global reputation, and contribute to net zero, National Grid is probably the most exciting place in the country to be right now.
“National Grid is widely respected as a highly professional, world class
organisation. What a privilege we have before us in creating a better future,
where we can say ‘we did that’.”
Andy Richardson, Director of Asset Operations
